What happens to Ollie?

I just watched this movie and that's the same thing I wanted to know. What happened to Ollie and the dog? I cannot believe they left it open ended like this! It ruined the entire movie for me!

Update: I posted on the film's FB page and they got back to me pretty quickly. I was told that Sam knew Ollie was alive and would have alerted authorities who would have looked for him until they found him. The dog was keeping watch, protecting him. That makes sense because she did notice he wasn't wrapped in his blanket, which is why she thought her boyfriend had taken him to safety but he told her that he didn't. So. . . . . .all's well that ends well :-)

I like to think that Sam told the police about him and they were able to send out a team and rescue him. I think it should have been explained though rather than left open ended.

Wouldn't the movie have been so much better if she'd been faced with the choice at the end to choose Ollie or her piece of crap boyfriend?! Like the villain had a gun to his head and yelled for her to come out or he's going to shoot her BF, and at that same moment, Ollie comes toddling out of the woods, so she picks up Ollie and takes off leaving her chicken shit BF just like he did to her? That would have made the movie SO MUCH BETTER!!!! And then she just adopts Ollie at the end, and thereby gets herself a REAL MAN!!!

Just watched this.. This was my main question at the end!! I kept hoping they'd show him in the hospital!!
My go to was that it was going to be some future sickening plot where Ollie is a killer, having survived due to banjo..
And she really needs to curb the good doctor and find someone that is as strong and steady as she is!
Compelling movie!

Where was Ollie when she saw the blanket with him gone if the guy didn't take him? That's what I want to know. And no stupid FB page afterthoughts from the director. Kind of poor continuity in this movie.
