Just finished..One of Netflix best originals yet

The production of The Crown is just beautiful at a cost around 150+ mil for 10 hours is quite cheap given 90 min feature films that cost that much can't even come close to this quality.

What has happened to feature films? Am i just getting to old for the content that's being released? Even something rated R like Deadpool was childish to me.

Anyway...The Crown

First I really want this soundtrack

The cast is brilliant...Stand outs Claire Foy (Queen) and Vanessa Kirby (Princess Margaret) and the actress who played the Queen mother was just heart breaking at times.

What i feel is the core for the series is the institution of marriage, something I never agreed with in the first place.. The idea of love, honor and "OBEY", while two are very reasonable the third turns my stomach. They (the royals) aren't as far removed from us as you might think.

Completely agree. I've just finished it and I absolutely loved it. The music was stunning and I was really impressed by Matt Smith, Claire Foy and the woman who plays the Queen Mother but I can't place where I've seen her before.

The actress playing the Queen Mother is Victoria Hamilton. You might have seen her before in Lark Rise to Candleford (she played Ruby or Pearl - I forget which -- one of the sisters who always wore matching outfits).

She also appeared in several Jane Austen films/series: Pride and Prejudice 1995 (Mrs. Forster), Persuasion 1995 (Henrietta Musgrove) and Mansfield Park (Maria Bertram).

She also played Queen Victoria in BBC's two-part series called Victoria & Albert.

She was a feisty bluestocking in BBC's adaptation of Golding's To the Ends of the Earth.

Agreed. I usually don't binge watch but this series is like a good book that you can't put down. When I finish it I think I'll start again from the beginning.
