This looks great!

Claire Foy really nailed the Queen's manner of speaking. She got her voice down so well!
I also love the fact that the creators took great care to cast actors who LOOK like the real people they're playing.
Very impressed by that.

I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey and am sad it has ended. I've been looking for another period show to watch and I think this may just be it! Also helps I love all things that are British Royalty.

I wonder how the actual Royals feel about it? lol. I"m sure it will be filled with inaccuracies but i'm ok with that.

When was the last time an evil act was committed in the name of the Devil..?

Agree! Looking forward to watching this. Loved Downton Abbey as well.

I wonder why they call her a 25-year-old newlywed. She married in 1947 at age 21 and had Charles the next year and Anne two years later. She assumed the throne in 1952.

Looks like it's going to be an interesting series. I look forward to it.

I understand that "The Queen" was recently used as a title in that Helen Mirren movie but "The Crown" is pretty generic. A title like "Young Elizabeth", "Our Elizabeth", or "Our Queen" might've been better.

reply

There's a lot of symbolism using the title The Crown, and if they had used Young Elizabeth, it might not have worked out very well if they continued the series into her later life.

I agree!

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

I agree about the casting, I love how they have tried to get people who look right. They have got a great balance though because they've got great actors too. Claire Foy is a great actress, she was brilliant in Wolfhall.

I agree! I'm so excited to watch it, and Matt Smith is inspired casting!
