I was lucky enough recently to get to see some early work on this movie, and it actually looks pretty good. The funny guy from Deadpool and the English late night host are in talks to be the main characters, and the writing looks on point. It was pretty funny in the early version I saw a bit of.
Honestly, just give it a shot before writing it off as a cash in. At the very least it'll be a funny thing to take kids to see.

The first trailer counts for a lot. Now it's been heavily criticized all over the place so there are problems with it. What remains is how is Sony and the writer / director going to respond to this and how is it going to be received and reviewed once it's out?
That will determine if I change my mind on this or not.
I know, right? Honestly, I have zero interest in this movie. But I'm not proclaiming it is the next coming of the Bubonic Plague or something like almost everyone seems to be doing. Wait for it to come out, then bash it. I don't see why people are so angry. What if it turns out to be an above average, or even a great movie? Just wait.

I absolutely will not give this a chance. Seeing Pixels was bad enough already. It's unbeliveable that crap like this is allowed to exist, but things like cannabis are illegal.
