1930s: Technicolor brings the magical world of Oz to life.
1950s: Sword and sandal epics become the new standard for high-class filmmaking.
1990s: The CGI boom begins.
2010s: Smiley faces that you send from your phone get their own movie.

Where did we go wrong?! R.I.P. American cinema...

Look on the bright side---21st century: There Will Be Blood and Mad Max: Fury Road get released.
