How refreshing

Just seen this film. I found it very moving. It is refreshing that the story focused on Emmett Till's mother and her quest for justice. In years gone by, the story would be about a well meaning white reporter or lawyer who wanted help Mrs Till.

If you compare this film with Mississipppi Burning, which deals with another racist murder in that state, you can see the similarities and the difference. Here, there is no need to tell the story from the POV of a white saviour.
