Really excellent performances in a very well crafted movie! I was very impressed with Geena Davis and Jon Hamm, especially later in the film.
shareThe performances were very good. Unfortunately I really disliked this film. It was devoid of any character development or conflict. It seemed to focus on the singular idea of the hologram companion which was interesting for the first 30 minutes, but it was the only idea they apparently had and just repeated the concept without any nuances or changes.

I think what you said is a little true, but it is also true of another movie I like very much ... "The Man From Earth".
This is an idea movie.
Or it focuses on our relationship to technology.
You could go back to the technology of writing and how it allowed humans to store memories outside themselves so things would not be forgotten. I think it was that relationship to technology that was changing.
