some pluses, some minuses...

christian films are LOOKING better, but other stuff still brings them down. I understand they are mostly made for a specific, less meticulous audience.

production quality was really great. lighting, sets, focus, interiors, outsides, wardrobe, vehicles all totally fine, very passable, done well enough to fall into the story and not be plagued with "Oh man, this looks very low budget as expected." the special effects, were well done, invisible, non-impacting the story and served their purpose.

audio was passable but could be improved. mostly the mix was fine, not great, maybe music could have been more involved in pushing emotion instead of simple back ground filler. I noted it jumped at fitting the tone at several points, which was helpful.
they abused a couple of things. main one being people who are lost in thought while having the background talking muted and unheard - I counted this being done at least 4 times making it stand out. I get it, but they overused it, numbing the impact.

acting was fine. dialog mostly okay. not gonna nitpick here as it was a true story and there is only so much you can bend in that.

not a fan of "here's yet another thing to cry about" every 5 minutes. and they didn't develop characters decent enough for me to care. with in first 5 minutes, we go from meeting happy family with new baby to mom's final breath. yeah it's a cry moment but why? We didn't feel them yet any more than a fake family photo in a frame shop. unlike UP where we grew with their journey for a while, then get dumped on. anyway, too many cry moments to quick harded me up and i didnt feel any of it. AGAIN, I'm not the target audience for this type of hallmark stuff.

TO ME, the worst part is that they played a 20 minute intro with the director and cast and kept showing most of the climax scenes - SPOILERS - right there before the movie. we knew what was coming, already saw it, so the ending 1/3 was a let down. would have been so much better to not see all that while they were selling us on the production. They should have left that for AFTER the movie played for those that were interested. Or shorten it to 3 minutes, and remove ALL spoilers. It was the dumbest thing I've ever seen... a movie shoot its own foot out of the gate.

That is a bizarre way to introduce the plot...
