i don't get it. is this all writers can come up with in 2016?

seems like i chose the wrong profession. there seems to be no lazier job out there than to be a writer for television.
it is so cringeworthy when the umpteenth show on television comes up yet again with the same formula they've been using since forever. what should glue me to the episode when they seemed to think "hey, every show has the usual dude gets heart attack so he needs to change his ways and the audience will find it funny how he has to avoid eating salt. ha ha.". really... i watched maybe 5 or six episodes and all i could think about was "how on earth got these stories greenlit".

is it asked too much of a comedy writer to make an effort? it's not the 50s anymore. the audience wants more than same old, same old.
