Jeffrey Donovan should have had this role.

In my opinion the leads of this show and Shut Eye should swap roles. I kept picturing Jeffrey Donovan of Burn Notice in this role. Thinking back to Shut Eye (JD's new show). I think Ribisi would have been a better fit for that one. Just a thought.

Jefferey Donovan would have been amazing for this show.

I miss Burn Notice now, damnit.

I could not get into Shut Eye. I get where they were going w it, but I didn't think it was Jeffrey Donovan's best role. He didn't sell me in that role. I really enjoyed watching him in Burn Notice. I am only on ep3 of Sneaky Pete, but I can definitely see Donovan in this instead of Ribisi. Seeing how easy it was for Donovan in Burn Notice to take on different aliases, I can see how Donovan could pull off this role on Sneaky Pete. I guess my thought for Ribisi though, is see if he pulls it off. Haven't seen him in anything in ages.

I don't know Butchie instead.

Totally agree. I did find myself liking Shut Eye and being a little disappointed in Sneaky Pete. I think the role reversal may have made both better. Although admittedly I could watch Jeffrey Donovan in anything.

God yes.

J.D. looks nothing like Ethan Embry though....

J.D. has a cheesy factor to his acting unlike Ribisi...who is much more natural in most of his roles. Burn Notice was cheesy, but I still liked it.

I saw this post before watching any of Sneaky Pete. Watched the first episode last night, and all I could think is how I wish Jeffrey was the lead role. Would've knocked it out of the park.

Interesting. JD does have that sort of Teflon slickness (which some might describe as cheesy) that would have been perfect here. He also seems more comfortable delivering comic lines than Ribisi. I wasn't that impressed with Ribisi's rendition of the lead role at all. It seemed like his go-to look was one where he crinkled up his face like he'd stepped in dog poo or else was very constipated.

I don't know about Ribisi for Shut Eye, but thanks for steering me to Shut Eye. Now THAT'S an amazing show! And IMO, JD is perfect. And so is the rest of the cast. WOW!

No way, had he Jeffery played this role we all would have still been seeing Michael Westen. Not good to play to same type of roles. I like Ribiski, he looks squeamish and pulls off the part well.

I think you're selling Jeffrey short. I sort of thought the same thing when I started watching Shut Eye but he's shown a lot of versatility, much more than he did in the Michael Weston role. And every episode of "squeamish" from Ribiski in Sneaky Pete was way too much for me. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
