Ending
OK, this is probably a stupid question, but I gotta ask. Am I the only one who thinks she died at the end? She looked too "alive" on the porch and was petting the cat I was sure the killer had intended to kill.

Some people see the movie as all being in her imagination and it's just her imagining her next book (or the ending to her current book).
I'm of the opinion that aside from what we know is her imagination (the different "escape" sequences she runs through in her head) it's all real. Regarding the cat, remember that he picks up the cat to hurt it, but then he's distracted and he lets the cat go.
