First Bollywood cinema experience. Loved it!!

My husband and I watched this at our local cineworld. I have to say that I was very impressed by this film and loved it from start to finish. It was funny and the character portrayals were very endearing. I had looked up the reviews before booking so knew the basic story line in advance. Even though I knew the outcome I still enjoyed it immensely. I've never seen a Bollywood movie at the cinema before and although we were the only non Indians present we were made to feel very welcome. We were chatting to some of the other audience members and it was clear that they were curious about why we were there. A young couple that we met are going to email me when another Bollywood movie is showing so we can join them! I know it might sound daft but we had such a lovely time that I'm looking forward to going again to see another Hindi film. I'm even considering going to see Dangal again! ? Amir Khan was excellent!

Awesome movie indeed.

Aamir's acting, effort n most importantly his passion is what makes his cinema so damn unique. First thing Dangal has going for it is Aamir khan. First off the acting was amazing. Aamir khan gave arguably the best performance of his career playing Phogat. He is the best actor in bollywood. Period. He shocked me by his transformation. I myself being a gym trainer knows the effort which goes in such kinda transformation. Without Aamir I don't think this movie could have achieved what it has.

I absolutely LOVED Dangal as well.

But be warned that MOST Indian movies will NOT meat your standard once you've been introduced to Bollywood movies with an Aamir Khan movie. He sets the bar very very high. Aamir Khan is a perfectionist and does not pump out a high volume of movies, but when he does make a movie, there is a high chance it will be amazing.

I would recommend that you watch Aarmi Khan's previous movies, like Lagaan, Like Stars on Earth, Doom 3, 3 idiots. Also get 'FAN' on demand or DVD etc. which is by Shahrukh Khan, has a great story and acting. It also has no song and dance. I would rate Aamir and Shahrukh as Booywood's best actors. That's just my opinion as a Brit who doesn't like cheesy song and dance Bollywood movies.

Hi there ! since you enjoyed Dangal i would highly recommend a few older Aamir Khan classics , do watch the following on DVD if possible:

1.PK

2.3 idiots

3. Lagaan

4.Dil Chataa Hai

5.Mangal Pandey : The rising

Except what was already mentioned I will add:

Holi
Raakh
Earth 1947
Sarfarosh
Rangeela
Fanaa

In 90's he did a lot of crap (except above mentioned) like other actors of that time but since 2001 he did only one totally crappy movie (Dhoom 3). Even Ghajini is watchable and even interesting except unrealistic fight scenes and some weird moments in script.

Bahubali is a crap movie. The special effects r laughable.
5/10 for Bahubali.
