Are bollywood movies actually good?

Or are they just good for bollywood standards and bad for the rest of the world?

To answer your question in a nutshell, they are domestically as well as internationally acclaimed only when the directors are Danny Boyle, Jon Favreau or Ang Lee.

In fact Aamir's films are good enough to make ppl sit up and mull if they can compare his films internationally. The rest... they don't matter.

If it is an Aamir khan movie than it meets global standard of cinema. Infact his movies set standard for cinema.Dangal is the best movie . I can definately compare it with persuit of happiness

Just watched trailer for spiderman homecoming. THATS "global standard".

Sully, Inferno, fences 2016.... those are "global standard".

Now stay on imdb, and match the number of votes they receive compared to the number of votes "dangal" received. 50000 to 88000 compared to 20000(which will subside by end of next week). This is NOT exhaustive, but just so that ppl may garner some idea of the word "global".
Global does not count NRIs, but japanese, russian, australian, belgian, croatian etc etc
People actually paying to watch a film.... not including film festivals.

Why don't you check out the new Bollywood movies (post 2000) in the IMDb top 250 for yourself?
