Mark Fuhrmann

Is Mark Fuhrmann much worse off for being a part of the OJ case? He seemed to imply that in the documentary. But he is now a minor celebrity commenting on police matters on various crime shows, which never would have happened without OJ. Virtually all the players in the case have made money, and the sting of his racist tapes seem to have worn off a few years after the trial, no?

The only person I thought was truly worse off for being involved in the trial is Chris Darden.

Trust me Fuhrman is way, way better off for being part of the OJ case. He gets to write books, go on tv shows, conduct interviews, etc. He makes money doing all these things. Nice job..if you can get it.

It kind of depends. Regardless of whether or not he gets all this other work, did it feel like a real loss to him to end his career as an officer? It's not always about money to some people....only he knows that. The loss of respect and public pillorying? That probably stung a good deal. How about the way that it affected his personal relationships? Only he would know that, as well.

This is a good question. Mark really struck a chord with me when he talked about how his life was finally on track, and he had put behind him many of his immature and hateful behaviors. While I'm not a racist cop, I can relate to overcoming embarrassing things I did when I was young. To have all his past drudged up for the world to see because of the crime of someone else must have been devastating.
