You influence the outcome of a case....

....by merely getting it on the calendar.

Has a dumber sentence ever been uttered?

reply

Seems reasonable. There’s a ginormous backlog of cases. Moving the file to the top is shady.

reply

Nothing was said about moving it to the top. The statement was just as I wrote it.

reply

You’re right you and they didn’t say anything about moving it to the top just getting it on the calander. It’s still shady for this to occur due to a President’s chief of staff intervening. It calls the entire case into question. Justice is meant to be blind although in practice I fear it often is not.

reply

While I'll concede the method to which it would have been added to the calendar could have been shady, the outcome is in no way influenced. The justices still need to hear arguments and make a decision. The fact that they're hearing the case won't influence that decision. There whole existence is based on hearing cases on their calendar. They don't take into consideration how the case arrived on the calendar.

reply

Maybe they don’t but the politicians and media will and theyll scream bloody murder till the cows come home.

reply

All that very well might be true. But that's not what were talking about. We're talking about the fact a chief justice said getting a case on the calendar has already influenced its outcome.

reply

Ha I guess a Chief Justice deciding to go to the Oval Office to complain about a potential conflict is ironically adding to the conflict. Did he have to do this in person?

reply

Sounds like one of the argument a Republican of FOX News would make against ObamaCare in order to determine if the personal mandate was Constitutional. Of course it was Constitutional since it gave unlimited amounts of our money to the Health Insurance industry.

Folks, we have to get rid of FOX News in this country, and Sinclair Broadcasting - they are pandering to idiots and making them feel like geniuses to the point that the country is turning into an idiocracy.

reply

I agree brux. Fox and Sinclair are poisoning the conversation.
