The reason why the show was cancelled

The TV series has nothing to do with the book, it completely upsets the character and the sense of the story, in my opinion, for the worse.
I don't understand why they didn't make an original series instead of forcing the book narrative so much. I think this is the reason why the series was not as successful as it could have been remaining more faithful to the spirit of the text and has finally been cancelled.
It's a shame they cannot give it another try starting it over and sticking more to the original text.

Tumbrl fangirls love this show because it was woke. But i think season 1 was a masterpiece while the other two werent at the s1 level

You are not the one to have this opinion. What kind of bad decision was made by the writers, in your opinion, and why? I ask since I gave up very soon and would not be able to say myself!

Suddendly the writing became less complex and too preachy. Especially in season 3

I would have guessed it was because it sounds about as interesting as watching paint dry.

COuld it be somethign deeper?

Never read the book or watched any of the other shows, so maybe thats why I really loved it (and so did all of my family and whoever else it was recommended to)

Basically, in a plethora of really complicated sci-fi/crime dramas and thrillers, this show was a complete change of pace with excellent performances and a sweet story - something the whole family could watch together

Very disappointed to see it get cancelled

Myself, I really liked this version, I especially loved the Marilla in this one, but so many of my friends back home in the U.S. are stuck on the Megan Follows series and can't open their minds to any other adaptation. I have a feeling they weren't alone in that sentiment. I don't think enough people gave this one a chance.
