Usually I'm not a fan of remakes at all, but with Sofia at the helm I can see this being decent.

This is not a remake of "The Beguiled" (1971), but instead an adaptation of the novel by Thomas Cullinan.

the novel is a civil war dark gothic thriller. Not goth like twilight but more gothic like jane eyre and wuthering heights, but more darker and disturbing. The women are all unhinged. I cannot wait for this. Sofia will make this a good movie. And not a camp fest like the Eastwood film.

What is "campy" about the original The Beguiled? There is nothing parodic or satirical about the film.
