Uncomfortable German episode

Did anybody else find it a little bit off when the guys were talking to the audience in Stuttgart about how law abiding and respectful of authority Germans are? Were they just stating facts or was it three Englishmen having a subtle dig at German conduct during the Nazi years? If it was intentional it was the best writing of the season imho.

Just the boys having a jokey grin about it me thinks. Mainly from, clarksons brain i'm assuming :D but left open to the viewers thought. I think the german folk would've just kinda laughed like most of us. :D

Its a joke about the German stereotype of them being efficient and ordered.

...they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
