Not great, but not terrible

I went and saw The Nun this afternoon. It is the 5th film in the "Conjuring Universe" and focuses on the demon nun previously seen in The Conjuring 2. The film is directed by Corin Hardy, who I think does a decent job with the material. The films stars Demián Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, and Jonas Bloquet and is about a priest and a novice investigating the apparent suicide of a nun at an abbey where evil forces may lurk. The film is fast paced and has some nice creepy moments and good cinematography. It isn't overly scary though and much of it feel very familiar, as we have seen this kind of thing many times before. Although I liked the film, I do think this is the weakest of the 5 films in the Conjuring series. I rate The Nun a decent 7/10.
