I wish he would shave!

He looks scruffy, which would make a bad impression on me. He cared about how th defendant looked, but I found that him looking like he borrowed Hawkeye Pierce's stubble shaver offensive.

All the world is a stage and most of us are desperately unrehearsed.

Noticed it more this week than last.... maybe we could take up a collection and send him an electric razor !

reply

I do too. But apparently it is mandatory to distance himself from his former impeccably groomed character on NCIS.

I hope eventually they will have him clean shaven. I am not a big fan of scruff. I dont know why women like it.

The guy from Strike Back and Blindspot. He looks terrible with his perpetual 3 day growth. ALWAYS the same length. They have special trimmers for that. SO weird!

reply

Agreed. When he was the "male pilot" in the mock trial, I think he was actually clean shaven in uniform. In the next scene the 3 day growth has returned.

Considering he is sitting immediately behind the defendant in full view of the jury, you would think the criteria about the defendant's appearance would cover him as well.

reply

Considering that image is everything in a situation like that, I would expect him to be looking his best.

I was once on jury duty and th defense attorney looked as though he needed a shower and played with his key ring throughout the testimony. It was very distracting and I tried not to let it bug me, but it did.

I am a woman and I hate scruff. And I don't need beard burn. He should probably wear a tie in court too.

I like his scruffy look. :)

Why should it make a bad impression? It's trendy, even regarded sophisticated.
The most popular/expensive men's cologne houses have their representatives/models sport the same looks.

Rather sexy !

reply

I too love the scruffy look and part of that is due to looking less like Tony DiNozzo. Personally, as long as Michael likes it, I hope the look stays.

Dr Jason Bull: Don't give up on people, they're all we've got.

reply

Sexy? Perhaps. Professional....now that's something different. He has a consultant to make sure his clients look good, and even gives tie advice to his staff lawyer, so it does seem odd that he is sitting right behind the client looking scruffy.

reply

Yes, exactly. That look is not "professional" despite what the millenials want us to think.

reply

that is definitely the look of a BUM

Do they still call it an elevator when it goes down?

reply

Why box it? I'm a Milenial + 30. 

reply

I'm a baby boomer and I have no issue with scruff. It's just not something that bothers me in the workplace. On TV, with fictional characters it's just part of an individual character.

some people have good taste and others are in the crapper.

Do they still call it an elevator when it goes down?

reply

The ONLY actor to pull it off was Don Johnson. They even coined a term back then..."Stubble Chic"

Some company actually made razors that maintained a three day growth. They would NOT give you a clean shave. I kid you not.

Maybe Clint Eastwood and The Ugly. But no one else comes to mind pulls if off looking good.

reply

Dr Gregory House pulled it off in a "off kilter is he completely there" kind of way.

I agree, but he was out on the trail with the cows, and nobody shaved back then, but to show up in an office wearing a suit and tie and stubble? dirty looking!!!

You totally missed my point. I totally agree with you. I was pointing out the very FEW that credibly pulled off wearing the stubble on a daily basis.

Sullivan Stapleton is now a DIRECTOR in the FBI on BLINDSPOT and his face stubble makes him look like a total bum. What is really gross is his huge neck area that is all stubble too. Even if he just shaved THAT section it would look better. It almost makes me gag it is SO ugly!!

I am a guy who used to wear a beard for a LONG time. I still shaved every day and kept it neat. I have been clean shaven for the past five years now.
I never leave the house with out shaving..even on weekends.

I dont care if women find it "sexy". To me it looks lazy and disrespectful to people around you.

reply

And none of those stubbly characters listed above were trying to use the psychology of appearances to influence people.

My vote for His Scruffiness: Humphrey Bogart as Charlie Allnut in "The African Queen".

reply

It will only look "professional" when the millenials are age group in the seats of power.

Sixty-year-old guys with three-day growth....being the judge on the bench, rather than the guy offering to wash my windshield at the stop light.

I'm glad I won't be around to see that.

reply

Everyone has different tastes.
Me? I love the scruff and hope he keeps it.
