So Will it Last?

"Bull" has a couple of things going for it. The "NCIS" lead-in will give it some carry-over audience. And Michael Weatherly is a favorite of the kind of people that watch "NCIS".

In spite of its good ratings for the first show, though, I don't think it will get more than one season, if even that. The show just isn't that good. It's too similar to other past shows like "Lie To Me", "The Mentalist", "Numbers". Even beyond that, it just isn't that interesting.

I've read contradictory reports on its ratings from week one to week two. One said it only dropped a bit, another said its ratings dropped rather dramatically.

I'm inclined to believe it won't survive, even with "NCIS" as the lead-in, even with Michael Weatherly as the lead.

As for me, I watched two episodes. Those will be the only episodes I watch. No more for me. It's not a matter of me being a "hater", either, as another person posted below. Not liking a show doesn't make one a "hater". That's just a lame way of labeling people who don't share the same opinion as someone else.

will it last?
good question, Stoshie...

I watched the pilot (first) episode, and had a hard time getting interested in the second episode...

the show is just not "my cuppa"...

I seriously do not care for Weatherly's "look", and the supporting cast of characters just don't do it for me either...

but will it last?
if it continues to follow NCIS, it'll most likely go a full season...
after that - who knows? 

CBS tends to keep renewing shows long after their "expiration date" (unlike NBC who cancels shows without giving them a fighting chance)...
so it really wouldn't surprise me if Bull goes on for a while - good or not...

just my personal opinion...

My motto:
Live long and Pester!

Very true. "Criminal Minds" is another example of that. I think it's time to retire it and "NCIS", too. But I guess there is an audience out there that wants to see the same characters go through the same routines every week. There must be a certain comfort to that, which is why some of these shows last so long.

"NCIS" is very formulaic. Just about every show starts with someone dying, then we cut to the NCIS offices, where the main characters talk cute for a while until Gibbs sneaks in and says, "Grab your gear. We have a dead [somebody] in [somewhere]". Even Abby's shtick is getting old.

"Criminal Minds" is in its 12th season, "NCIS" in its 14th. That's enough, especially since, while there have been some character changes, the shows have remained basically the same throughout all those years.

Obviously people are entitled to their opinions. There's a ton of shows out there that I wouldn't watch once, never mind twice. A so-called hater IMO is someone who dislikes a show, which is fine, but then seems to have the burning desire to let people know over and over and over. That's tiresome and trolling. Not saying that's going on in this thread, just making a general comment about haters. I saw posts from some that watched 15 minutes of the pilot and knew immediately they hated it. LOL. Good for them. Just don't keep telling us about it. We get it. My 2 cents..

I agree - there are people who seem to go out of their way to trash something, a TV show, a movie, music, whatever, and the people who like those things. There's something wrong with people like that. It's like their egos are so fragile that they can't deal with people having different opinions or tastes than they do.

If I don't like a show, I don't watch it. I don't care if other people do, and I'm not going to try to make myself feel superior by attacked those that do. Simple, huh.

No, it's entertaining enough, but will be cut before they finish the season.
