Giving Bull a chance

Of course, I love the Anthony DiNozzo character that Michael played on NCIS. No one will ever take his place.
I DVR most of my shows to watch later. (I hate commercials.) I am watching Se1EP2, 'Woman in 8D' now.
I am going to keep watching because a lot of shows that are in its infancy sometimes take a few episodes to find their footing.
And, besides, I like Michael Weatherly. I just need to remember that this is not going to be like DiNozzo and comparing the 2 characters will be ridiculous.
But, NCIS is still my very favorite crine/drama series.
I hope 'Bull' works out for him. A part of me still wishes that he had stayed on at NCIS though.
But, it isn't for any of us to decide when an actor should stay or leave a show.

So.... you haven't seen this show? 

reply

Yes. I just said I DVR my shows and watch them a little later. I don't like commercials and DVR'ing lets me FF through them.
I've watched both episodes already.
How can I judge on whether or not to keep watching if I don't watch?

ok

Your thread is "Give Bull a chance" because you want people to watch so it is popular so it stays on the air, right ?! But then go on to say you DVR the show so you can skip the ads. If everyone did that then the show ain't gonna last cos if no-one watches the ads then the network won't make the money.

I've seen people question the validity of posters' complaints, but never the validity of their choice in how to view a show.

I also dvr and FF commercials. But since I am not in the only demographic that advertisers care about, and I'm not a "Neilson family," I doubt my viewing habits make one bit of difference to the longevity of this show.

And actually, the networks *have* to know that the dvr +3 and +7 numbers are skipping the commercials. I can't imagine they are naive enough to think, oh, those people just wanted to watch it later, but I'm sure they are going to patiently sit through 18 minutes of advertisements when they finally watch. Right?

Thank you. Some people. :/
I'm sure DVR'ing a show won't affect it the ratings. If that's the case, then many popular shows woukd be cancelled already. They have to know that the majority of people have DVR's. The commercials are still there. I just choose to FF through them.

Pretty sure the networks have considered the DVR thing because many people have them. I'm also sure that they know when a show is taped and watched. Weird as that may be but DVR's are probably monitored. That's why I think it doesn't matter when you watch it as long as you watch it. Taping it will probably count as a view. I don't know how it works but I think they know how to take into consideration that people record now. Before the DVR came out, they probably already had it worked out to know how to count ratings.
Besides, the TV could be on a certain channel but no one's watching. Sometimes, I like having the TV on while I sleep. I like a little noise because I can't sleep if it's too quiet. So, it's playing a certain sitcom show but I'm not even watching. So, does that still count?
