I feel like the idiot who likes a movie most people hate....

Honestly,
I keep thinking over my experience watching this film last night.
I have no idea why I like it amidst all of the harsh criticism.
Tons of people say there was no plot line and they fell asleep (not just mainstream critics. I'm talking the guys and gals on IMDB).
But I completely disagree....
The entire film was about how not dealing with your emotions will fuck everything up,
similar to "Inside Out".
.
Tons of people say it was loaded with virtue signaling...
while I saw Disney simply showing a stark awareness of how stupid their chronology of "man-saves-princess" theme is. I'm a male who is NOT a 3rd wave feminist, and I enjoyed the implications in this film. The part where Ralph ends up wearing a dress was pushing it a little too much, but what can you expect? Back in the day, Disney putting dresses on female characters was just as much "virtue signaling".
.
"Advertising, advertising, advertising" they said.
Well, yes...that's what will happen when you create a movie to depict the internet. Who cares if there's two birds and one stone here: the film is a giant billboard, and it also speaks to people in a generation who grew up in the internet like me.
I loved seeing all these brands in the context of a creative plot film.
I was thinking about how...in 30-40 years, a lot of them probably won't exist, and people like us will look back on this and feel how oddly nostalgic it is.
.
People said it was boring.
What the hell are they talking about? Can anyone enlighten me on this please?

I liked it too. I also didn't mind the Disney princesses feeling annoyed at having to be rescued instead of doing the rescuing themselves. Actually, Mulan and Pocahontus weren't like that. Neither was the girl from Brave.

I have previously stated that it was not up to same standards as first one but I thought it was a good movie as well.

I loved it. Laughed and cried tbh.

It's nowhere near as good as the first movie. But also nowhere near as bad as the hater-trolls claim. I enjoyed it well enough.
