In case you mean Cary Agos (and not Carey Zepps): In several recent interviews Matt Czuchry said that "there hasn’t been any talks on either side about [...] a possible appearance" of his character (and him) in the spin-off (source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/matt-czuchry-his-gilmore-girls-return-good-wife-finale-949939).

If you're actually asking for informations about Ben Rappaport's character Carey Zepps - I can't say anything about his possible involvement in the spin-off.

Best wishes,

Assuming the carey in Question was Matt Czuchry's Character "Carey Agos", because when i saw a spin off i was hoping the exact same thing that he might be in it. Bummer!!

No clue who that other guy is you were talking about either.

However thanks for the info.

At the beginning of season 5 of TGW, the show runners introduced a new character into the show with the name Carey Zepps ("Carey-with-an-e"), played by actor Ben Rappaport. He was in 14 episodes in total, his last appearance was in season 6, episode 11, Hail Mary (2015). He turned out as kind of an antagonistic lawyer to the other "Cary-without-an-e", Cary Agos, played by actor Matt Czuchry, but he vanished unceremonously like so many other characters on TGW.

The similarity in the pronunciation of Carey/Cary was something the showrunners thought would be funny and lead to confusion. I can't find the exact interview right now, but you can read more about this here:

That's why it's uncertain which character the OP meant by asking about "Carey" (Carey-with-an-e) in this thread. 

Right you are almost like a Encyclopedia for TGW. I remember him now he was one of the young hires made by Cary Agos, with the ambition to move on up. He never made much impact though, Cary had a Leading role while Carey was a less important supportive Role. There is a reason why we don't remember some people because they do not stand out, there are other supporting roles which made a Big impact, but he was just a bland preppy face in the middle of the rest of the action.

Many people made mistakes as they write how they think a name is supposed to be written and maybe not how it really is, but since Carey didn't make a memorable impression I also didn't even pay attention to his name. For me there is only one Character Named Car(e)y who is worth mentioning and that is Matt's.

What can I say I'm guilty of Cherry Picking and tuning out the noise, that has no meaning.

Haha, yes, I was quite obsessed for some time with this show and then season 6 happened and I turned into a sensible human being again.  But, honestly, due to much work in the last months I forgot so many things about the show; it's actually frightening. However, I think this following detail is wrong:
I remember him now he was one of the young hires made by Cary Agos, with the ambition to move on up.
I don't think Carey-with-an-e was hired by Cary-without-an-e for his new firm. Instead, he was hired by Diane/Will for the old firm at the beginning of season 5 and - for the first 4/5 episodes - they kind of were both competitors/rivals, until they both jumped ship to the new one. I especially remember scenes in one episode in which e-Carey was shown as someone more competent than Cary during the case of the week, insinuating that Alicia was doubting to start her endeavour with Cary. And I think that was one of the main reasons to bring this new e-Carey into the show.

But, all in all, I agree with you completely that the new e-Carey never made much of an impact within the show. I remember several other scenes with him, especially with Robyn, but nothing really was that important for the show in my opinion.

 and best wishes,

janar
