Suicide Metaphor and Future

Death Forest is a pretty obvious metaphor for suicide: a person is haunted by inner demons (or zombies/stalkers), they are often too paralyzed to ask for help (they keep their mouths shut and run off alone), and then they off themselves (stand still and wait for floating head to munch on ya). And, with the sequels, people don’t just die in the suicide forest, they can kill themselves anywhere.

Overall, I think there’s enough here to merit a remake at some point that distills the series down to its best parts. Mainly: creepy forest, mysterious old bitch, zombie old men with halitosis, and Lady Death’s Head.
