Does anyone else find these movies predictable?

So far, I've watched all three installments of The Purge. I didn't care for the first one at all; because it all took place in a locked-down house, and not actually showing what was going on in the streets. I thought maybe the sequel was going to be an improvement, but it wasn't. Totally unrealistic, cheesy, and predictable. And don't even get me started on how bad the third film was. Another problem I have with these films, is that the premise is actually quite violent...but somehow the films always end up being so tame. If anyone knows what I mean??

The first one was OK and to some point original for me. The second was really bad.. I didn't enjoy it at all and the last was plain shite.

I'd watch the 4th but my expectations are almost none.. I assume it's going to be predictable like the last three

Yeah it was more of the same really and Marisa Tomei was wasted. I wouldn't have minded if it was an actual sequel with Frank Grillo's character again

The first one was basically another version of the "Home Invasion" thriller, and there were a lot of those around at that time.

I think "Anarchy" got it best, by a fair margin. It offered the concept of someone who was going out to purge, but finds him instead helping others escape the violence, and finally, rethinking what he was going to do. I think it used the concept the best.
