a shortened final season

BOO!

This show already suffers from too many commercials and struggling to hit an actual 20 minutes of content per episode, so it's not a show that needs a shorter season. It'd be nice if for that reason, they'd give us 24 minutes of content instead of 17, but it'll probably go down to 13 to capitalize on advertising for the final season.

I hate that it's happening and don't fully understand why. I know, the short answer is the strikes. And I admittedly don't understand all the contractual intricacies of that. But it just seems unnecessary. They could do the normal amount of episodes and air two at a time. Or let it go into late June. I know that's not standard. But it's a loved show, people would watch. And since it's confirmed as the final season, I don't understand why the network is so beholden to ending it in May. Is there something else they're that bent about airing in June? That they think would get better ratings? To which, when it's the final season and you're not trying for a renewal, ratings matter a bit less anyhow. Just annoying. 14 won't be enough.
