Finally got to see this...

I knew my dad and brother would like it because they love films with lots of combat and explosions. I wanted to see it because I'd heard a lot of good things about it, but I did expect it to be gory and violent. I didn't expect it to be funny on a ridiculous, almost psychotic level. I mean, DANG!!! The jokes are epic! Plus, since they had DC comics villains involved, they could break all the rules of your super-people films (I can't really classify this as a "superhero" movie) and just run with it. Honestly, I knew it was gonna be gory, but to be truthful, I hadn't seen that many people go SPLAT!! since the last time I watched "Starship Troopers" or "Aliens." It was particularly funny watching Bloodsport and Peacemaker one-up each other, despite all the carnage it caused. Also didn't expect to see Harley Quinn go romping around in a red ballgown while an evil 3rd-world president tries to court her.
And yeah, they were right when they said Starro looked a tad too cartoony for this film. What he did wasn't cartoony, all things considered. I also had never seen a creature with 5 mouths screech-roar like that before. Didn't expect to like Ratcatcher 2 as much as I did. She turned out to be the sweetheart in the film. Didn't expect to feel sorry for the poor Polka-Dot guy either. Although it was hilarious how Bloodsport got him to attack Starro by yelling "IT'S YOUR MOM!!!!"
So in one sense, it was funny and entertaining, but on the other, the gore could be pretty nasty, even worse than the language used. Great acting from everyone too.
