Here's 44 minutes of adult John Connor for you

It's a damn shame what happened to that dude. He want off the deep end and just never really did come back.

I guess there's still time, but he's certainly lost a lot of years.

reply

It's his voice - even with all the make-up and bodybuilding he'd have to do prior to the shoot, he'd still sound like Mike Tyson.
Then again.... we never did hear Jonh Connor speak in T2 (the adult version) - maybe he had the voice of a Mickey Mouse.

reply

I'll agree that his voice is kind of wack there and doesn't sound very savior-of-humanity-ish.

The weird thing is that I recently watched that Crow movie he did a little while back and he didn't sound like that. He had a deeper voice, less shrill voice in that movie and I doubt they digitally modified it for the whole movie.

As a smoker, I can tell you that cigarettes deepen your voice. Electronic cigarettes, on the other hand, do the opposite - and it's obvious that he's a heavy vaper. So, yeah - I wouldn't be surprised if his vape habbits contribute to his voice sounding so high-pitched.

I thought Eddie was really a cute kid when he was 13 and even as he got a little older he was still nice looking, but he didn't age well - drugs may have played a large part but sometimes cute kids don't grow up to be particularly good looking adults. Look at Macaulay Calkin as another example.

reply

Drugs definitely played a huge part in his current condition.

I have no idea what he'd look like today if he hadn't spent two decades partying his ass off, but I do know that if he had taken care of himself he'd look much, much better.

He was about 20 years old when he made American History X circa 1998 and he was still in good shape at that time. By 2005, when The Crow: Wicked Prayer came out, he had clearly gained weight but still looked acceptable. Today he literally looks like a homeless person you'd see asking for money on the street.

It's a damn shame.

I'll have to check that out because as I was watching this I couldn't help but laugh and think even if he had been in the position to be in another movie as an adult John - does his voice really sound like a hardened future leader?

reply

It's a truly awful movie. I can't recommend it in good conscience.

But if you do watch it, you'll at least see that Eddie's voice sounds different than it does in that interview.

reply

Oh, that's the only reason I would watch it.

reply

somewhat different, because he mostly whispers (more or less) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQLduSS9DQc

well, as some of the youtube commenters suggest, if they ever make a simpsons live action movie with a grown up bart simpson, at least that could be an ideal role for eddy furlong.
