They changed too much stuff

Paige started in FCW not NXT, and Paige had a long run in NXT as the NXT womens champion before she was called up to the main roster and beat AJ for the title. In the movie they make it seem like Paige just trains for a few weeks, has one match and is suddenly told shes being called up to defeat AJ for the title on Raw, theres no way in hell it would work like that irl in WWE.

Do they really want us to buy that she has 1 match and they're calling her up to defeat the champion on the main roster? in what world would that happen? not just in WWE but in any job, like its your first day on a new office job, and the next day you're told you're being promoted to manager, its just dumb.

In this movie what did she do to earn that opportunity? nothing, they showed her having 1 actual match in a tag match, and then suddenly The Rock is with her calling her family to tell them shes being promoted to the main roster to win the divas title. Maybe to non wrestling fans watching this they wouldn't blink an eye at it, but as someone who watches it every week that was ridiculous.

Another thing they didn't even bother putting Paige and AJ in the actual gear they wore. Zelina Vega was playing AJ in the movie, but she still dressed in the gear she wears as Zelina Vega irl. There was just no attempt at accuracy in this movie from that standpoint at all.

Also was the actress playing Paige afraid to show her stomach or something? cause in every match in this movie shes wearing a shirt or something that covers her entire body, Paige irl wore a small top and shorts, and she always showed her stomach.

Not to Mention Dusty Rhodes was a big part of Paige's NXT Journey.

Maybe she wants to support her own brand?

It's a feel good girl power movie. Her character is played up as not being a bimbo showing up her body, she supposed to be the outsider to a bunch of bikini wearing models, it was just how the character was written.

I agree, but it is a feel good movie. Plus aren't all these wrestling things scripted? Like pre-decided? How could she be told she going in against whats her name for the title when it's scripted?

But yeah irl she'd have to work her way up, even if it's mostly for the audience. Especially since, if she's going to have a heroes arc and get the tittle, people want the story telling of coming to know the newbie before she becomes the champion, not hey here's this newbie who's suddenly champion, she suddenly the best.
