Robert Downey Jr. is not a draw

He just seems popular due to the Marvel brand but as a stand alone actor he is not a box office draw. Same goes for the likes of Hemsworth and Evans.

I don't think there's box office draws anymore. Not him. Not anyone else.

It's been established for awhile that celebrities themselves are no longer box office draws, it's not just RDJ. It's why actors no longer get the HUGE upfront paychecks they used to, and make most of their money in the back end.

I think he's overrated too, and has just stooped to the superhero genre to make money. He did make some good films when he was younger, but since he quit drugs he's boring. And if anyone ever asks him about drugs he goes ballistic (see the BBC interview).

Opinions vary, but to me, Downey is an Oscar calibre actor, and I am not speaking of his work in the MCU. He was nominated for an Oscar for his work in "Chaplin" and I agree.
