Super Mario Bros Movie ($1.3 billion box office) vs Sonic the Hedgehog ($320 million)
Interesting to compare the box office of these two. While Sonic was successful in its own right, it got absolutely trounced by Mario.
It makes you wonder what the result would've been if this head-to-head contest had happened back in the early 90s when Sega was at the height of its popularity with the Genesis.
