We learn eventually that the bent-neck lady is Nellie, and she is not a malevolent spirit, so I am not sure what Nellie seeing her in their bedroom had to do with it.
However, if the answer to this question is just "the house", how could it have done that long-distance? And why would this have been an isolated instance?
