Vera Miles Revisited
Elizabeth Marvel (as Ella Gannett, the innkeeper who speaks Kiowa to the little girl) reminds me so much of yesteryear actress Vera Miles. Miles was prominent in the 50's and 60's, appearing in two Hitchcock films "The Wrong Man" and "Psycho" and a host of others. Marvel looks and sounds like her - and also has the same kind of compelling, understated acting style. If you want to see a terrific (and largely unheralded) Vera Miles performance, check out the 1972 western "Molly and Lawless John", where she co-stars with Sam Elliott.
