Why does Ethan Hawk play the Grabber AND the dad? I could recognize him behind the Grabber's mask so I kept expecting him to turn out to be the Grabber, especially as his daughter was having dreams that he kept trying to convince her werent real....

Sorry dude but he didn't play the dad. That was Jeremy Davies.

Ah okay thanks for clearing that up. I'm usually pretty good with faces but gotta admit both actors look very similar to me.

Ethan Hawk only played The Grabber. The father was played by another actor.

Thanks, I honestly thought ethan hawke was just in a lot of hair and makeup to look like the dad. I see now he is the translator from saving private Ryan. They look pretty similar to me!

Near the start of the film I had to check imdb to see who played the dad because there was something familiar about him, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it was Upham!

There are actually quite a few movies where actors are made up and play dual roles so I can see how you would think that. 🙂

This blows my mind. They don't even look remotely similar to me.
