What people should be talking about...

Overall it was a phenomenal film. The acting all around was superb as well as the score and cinematography.

It seems that most of the conversations the movie has been generating though has been because people are worried the actions Joker takes in the movie are being glorified and will inspire copycat violence. What people should be talking about though is the events that cause him to snap.

One major thing is that funding for his psychiatric help was cut so he could no longer get it or his prescriptions which should illustrate to people that mental health is important and we should take it seriously. Not to mention all the bullying that Arthur endures. I definitely don't justify his actions, but I empathize with his character.

I have similar feelings...

Scary (afterward) to think I was sympathizing with Fleck/Joker even to the very end...
Luckily, Im sane... or am I? Is my history multiple choice? Hehehe

J/k... fantastic movie. Going to see it again tomorrow after reflecting for a couple days.

I completely agree. Thats largely the social commentary presented along with the masses rising up against the power elites.

I can't remember an example before this of media perpetuating a false narrative of their own creation bashing an otherwise well received movie before it's even released. The idea that Joker is controversial because of its (very limited) violence is laughable. I would direct those writers to the next theater over and watch the latest installment of Rambo.

Now common...
Without having seen it, I can make an educated guess that Rambo didn't kill more then 40-50 people (maybe 80), in increasingly gruesome ways.

Love your point :)

The 3rd act is similar to Home Alone, but with explosives, bullets and blood. It's gloriously brutal.

If Rambo hasn't enough killcount, try John Wick 3.
