Not sure what but I just cannot stand Nicolas Cage. The only thing I've ever thought he was good in was "Moonstruck" many decades ago. How did he and his horse face ever become a thing?
Valley Girl is, was and always will be his greatest movie of all time. Followed closely by The Rock, Con Air and National Treasure. Everything else is just a byproduct of his name.
I wonder who would win in a competition between Samuel Jackson and Nic Cage as to which one has done the most movies?
Jackson has certainly been in the most commercially successful movies, whereas most of Cage's output in the past 15 years seems to be terrible direct-to-VOD stuff. But he had done a LOT of them. On the imdb page, he has 10(!) movies listed as completed or in production in just 2019/2020 alone.
And every so often he pops up in a decent movie that catches attention.
