I was worried he can't take seriously in a dramatic role after Spider Man stuff, but I'm so glad he did a fantastic job. This movie was excellent!

Agreed. His performance was the standout. Bill Skarsgard as Willard was also excellent.

Yes, his acting was simply brilliant. He nailed the Southern accent and showed a deep emotional range.
