Just winding up the last episode ... this was good.

It is not perfect, and it is mostly entertainment and escapism,
but it has something interesting things to think about, it shows
interesting people and parts of the world ... some a bit stereotypical.
but it is well-written, well-produced, well-directed, the scenery is
incredible and the acting is good too.

I don't know about the first half versus the second half comments
from others, I think they are both good, and the conclusion was
not hammy and stupid, it was pretty well thought out.

"The Widows" suffers from the "how do you write a story without
making your characters do stupid things" syndrome - that is pretty
much the whole show.

My biggest criticism would be that there is too many flash-backs
and flash-forwards ... too much flashing. It is not that hard to
keep track of, but it is a trick to make things seem harder to
keep in perspective ... like how stupid some of the actions of the
characters are.

I also have to say that one thing I did not like about it was there
was too much violence, murder and portrayed too shockingly and
gratuitously. So, for that reason I would not really recommend it
and would rate the series as a whole 3/5, giving it the benefit of
the doubt.
