Dating Equals Split Focus....

...and means you can't do your job. It also means a female cop dating a male cop will somehow brand the female cop for the rest of her career. Wow, some of this writing is beyond moronic. Cops date each other all the time. Especially when starting out. It's no different than any other profession in that aspect. It might actually be more so, so these writers need to grow brain. Even one to share would be a step up.

Yeah - it's a bit odd. It's not as if he had a higher position than her. Then again, who knows what that black chick went through in her experience - or she may have had a thing against dudes in general. That black actress later accused a chick and a dude working on the show of racially and sexually harassing her -the chick got fired, while the dude was found to be innocent - it seems like that character was a good fit for that actress.

The Talia Bishop / Afton Williams, I think was her name, haracter quit because the studio would not do anything about her harassment complaint. I thought she was a very good actress. I am sorry she left the show and would never pay money to buy or watch this show or anything by this studio again.

reply

I think she's a decent actress. But I'd prefer to get more info about this from other sources than just her prior to making judgement. I'm still on first season - it's pretty decent. Given just how few decent shows are out there, I doubt that I'll stop at first season.

reply

Both seasons are on Hulu. It is a smart snappy show, marred by that complaint. I don't see any reason why someone would give up a great beginning to a career just to lie about sexual harassment.

reply

Well - maybe she bought into that whole me2 movement and wanted to bring more awareness to the issue? Jussie Smollett was doing well in his career, too - but wanted to also become a social justice warrior of sorts.

The point being, some actors want to be more than just actors - they want to be a part of a social movement - and as we've seen with Smollett, even at the cost of truth.

reply

Low probability of that.

reply

I'm just giving you a possible reason why she could lie.
Smollett really fucked things up, I must admit. Now people can bring him up whenever trying to destroy the credibility of another potential victim.

reply

Lot's of people were jumping on the Jussie Smollett bandwagon when he played the victim card... Looks like they were all supporting a liar. The fact is anyone can make a claim, and some people will make them up for nefarious reasons. Without knowing full details or having other witnesses support her claims this falls into the "yeah right" category and I'll just make a note. Now if other actresses on the show start making complaints we can revisit it but right not it is more likely than not bullshit.

reply

I agree. I'd want more witnesses, if nothing else?
None of the other actors spoke out about her firing. Then again.... we've seen many actors stay silent about known sex predators in the industry as well :)

Hell, the whole hollywood is fucked up - everyone is lying, victims, witnesses, sexual predators, you name it.
