The part where "they" looked at a photo of his red-headed childhood self. He says, "You don't know who that is? That's me." Then she says, "No, I thought that was me." Then the parents interrupts with the chocolate cake. At that moment, I thought this is about multiple personalities, this is about a boy who wants to converse with his parents as the girl. LOL! I know it's not that, I know it's about an old janitor reminiscing about missed opportunities. But I think the Trans angle could work too... LOL!
