There was nothing wrong with grandpa Eddie in the real world, so why did they play him as an old confused man in the game?

He wasn't portrayed as senile. The situation was just something he didn't accept as possible so he was trying to figure out if he was going crazy.

Are you even aware of how confused some elderly people are when it comes to technology? There is a difference between senile and confused. Anyone would be confused in this situation and add being elderly and not familiar with how video games work just make the situation even more confusing.

Funny example- My parents are in their 70s and were evacuated due to a hurricane. They came to stay with me. My mom who only uses her phone for checking the weather (shrug) started fussing at my dad saying he was wrong and no storm was coming. She continued to yell at him until we finally explained the phone was showing weather at her current location away from the hurricane and not her home. Lol
