Remake of True Lies?

quite a few similarities

reply

I would had said it was a mashup of Jumanji with Fast & Furious.

reply

Agreed - I'm thinking fast furious 7 or one of those latter sequels. The quality is kinda the same.
They are also aiming for a sequel, which is obvious.
Meanwhile... I thought this was pretty crappy. Jungle cruise was better - despite being a mix of pirates of the Caribbean and a few other films.
Free guy was better as well.

Something just didn't click in this film for me - the jokes fell flat. Chemistry wasn't there - the acting, the script...

I liked it more than I thought I would. But I do think it felt like a first draft. The cast carried me through it and I enjoyed most of the action scenes. That bull fight was a letdown.

reply

There are some elements of Jackie Chan movies as well, the plot and action scenes.

reply

Nothing Like True Lies at all.

bodybuilder, woman in cocktail dress and a dork

reply

Still, NOTHING like True Lies. The similarities you identify are all superficial. True Lies is about a married man whose wife does not know he is a spy, and he struggles to keep the secret. There is not a scintilla (look it up) of that kind of humorous conflict in this turd.

reply

It has a men and woman and is a movie.

So yeh it is identical

bodybuilder, woman in cocktail dress and a dork

reply

My wife said the same thing though to me it was more Indiana Jones chasing nazis.

reply

Agreed, it is a shot for shot remake with only the names changed.

What kind of sick bitch takes the ice cube trays

reply

Wut?

reply

It's a line that Tom Arnold says in True Lies

reply

From my point of view it has nothing to do with True lies with the exception of the dance scene between the Rock and Gal. This is a thiefs' movie and True lies was an spy's movie. There are elements of Indiana Jones and also maybe something from F&F...

reply

The scene at the party was certainly a little reminiscent of True Lies but the rest of it was not so. I loved the Indiana Jones outfit he had on during the jungle scene, and he even later whistled the theme. :)

The car chase through the mine tunnels also made me think of Indy.
