Far better then many give it credit for (spoilers)

This is far better then it's 6.5 rating on IMDB and critic reviews.

It's definitely not perfect. The last half hour isn't as great as it's first hour (although the fight scene between Glipin and Hilary Swank's main villain was good but could have been way more violent and badass). And the political stuff could have been toned down without taking away from the film.

But the film's got a amazing performance from Betty Glipin as Crystal, the only crappy thing that this film not getting the attention it deserved is that it didn't make Glipin a bigger star. She's by far the best thing in it and one of the better women action heroes I've seen in a while. I do think the first 20 minutes or so are probably the films high point (and funnily enough Glipin is only seen in a minute of it).

I loved that killing off Stereotypical male and female lead characters you'd usually get in this film, with Emma Robert's pretty blonde Damsel in Distress (killing off the most known cast member first was so funny) and Justin Hartley's Trucker muscle bound pretty boy action hero was a nice change of pace. And not focusing in on the hero of the film Crystal until near 30 minutes into it is ballsy.

I think Glipin's performance, the first 20 minutes and the dialogue are main reasons to check out this film.

It was fun. People didn't know what to make of it when it first came out... the whole 'political' aspects of it. People weren't sure if they should hate it for poking fun at conservatives or liberals or whomever.

In hindsight the whole hoopla and controversy was very overblown.
