How do they remember so much dialogue, and say it all so distinctly?
It shocks and impresses me what theatre actors have to do so frequently and flawlessly!

Unknown, but it seems to be often quoted for performing arts.
I first encountered the saying in the Marines, while learning mission critical tasks that we had to be able to perform in miserable conditions, cold, hungry, and sleep-deprived. And the tasks had to be completed properly every time with no exceptions. Lives could very well depend on us not getting it wrong.
