I did love the portrayal of mad King George III
The way he spoke so insanely as if it were normal, not to mention his drooling, a favourite character of mine for sure!
The whole show is a hot mess. At least I could understand what this character was saying because he sang slowly. Most of the rest was rapid fire rap, delivered at a relentless speed-demon pacing.
I guess that’s theater for the new ADHD generation.
I can see why this makes for good musical theater (see the Disney+ show), but God help any Hollywood IDIOT who attempts to adapt this into a movie. Some shows can only work on stage.
The Disney+ show is what I'm referring to, and we had subtitles on, which is something my sister normally objects to. But as a result, I personally was able to understand everything, so the fast singing didn't bother me.
