Low Ammo

So I'm enjoying the game, until I get 'low ammo' flashing on my screen all the time, and then it switches weapons until I run out of that ammo, heck I even run out of chain saw fuel. It's an endless vicious cycle.

Does the ammo count improve throughout the game, or is it like that throughout where you're constantly forced to switch weapons because of a tiny ammo amount?

It does improve but you can always chainsaw minor enemies for ammo. The chainsaw constantly recharges. You need extra charge ups to kill heavier enemies which you can find around the play fields.
