Season Two central romance is not interesting.

The Pride & Prejudice rip-off style hate turns to love story is such an overdone trope. Yawnsville. The Viscount is not likeable. Kate is not likeable. Their romance is not interesting.

Penelope is too sweet for that dolt Colin. Also making her the mysterious Lady Whistleblower was illogical and unbelieveable. Isn’t the narrator supposed to be Lady W? Julie Andrews doesn’t sound anything like Penelope. Lady W should be Lady Danbury or the Queen or a character played by Julie Andrews.

The artist brother character is boring. Why have him in it at all? For that one flash of a nude scene? Pathetic.

The Queen is still sporting Georgian perukes and hoop skirts, while the rest of the ladies wear Regency fashions.

Daphne should not be in it. Only makes the Duke’s absence all the more obvious. It’s like someone cut a giant hole in this show. They should have killed off the Duke or sent the couple on a world trip or something. Daphne lingering around without her husband is just sad to see. An unhappliy-ever-after scenario after their big hot steamy romance last season.

Why does Lady Whistledown have to be physically portrayed by Julie Andrews? Lady W is a pseudonym that Penelope writes under, and since she is supposed to be a completely different person, it would make no sense to have Penelope do the voiceovers.

Also why is Penelope being Lady W. illogical and unbelievable? Pen is part of the aristocracy and has unfettered access to all of the society members. She is also a "wallflower." Very few people pay attention to her, which makes it easier for her to navigate the balls and events and mingle in the crowd overhearing all of the gossip.

Why should they kill off Simon? Even if the actor was not going to return (despite his character being somewhat present in the books), there is no logical reason to do that. I won't disagree though that the trip idea isn't too bad (in my opinion Daphne was not needed in this season).

True, but it is what it is.

It's not illogical at all. This is based on a book series and they are setting up his character who will be the central character of season 4.

> Daphne should not be in it.

Kind agree. But they confirmed she is included in season 3.

> making Penelope the mysterious Lady Whistleblower was illogical and unbelieveable.

It's not. There is a perfectly good explanation in the books about how she came to be lady whistledown. I expect we will see it in season 3.

Sounds like the books are better than the series.

Well, that is the case with most book adaptations. As someone who read all the books, it also applies here.
