Theme music sucks

What a missed opportunity to compose a great original theme for this series!
They use a jazz instrumental, Prelude #2 by Gershwin. Yes, he was a genius, but the question is: does the music fit the series? I think not. It's a bit depressing and sounds more suited to a bar scene where a guy is down about losing his girl; t's too personal. This is a BIG story about a BIG country and needs bigger music (not happier music, but more dramatic and less intimate).
I am a professional composer who has written for film and TV (although not yet a household name). I am confident enough (and egotistical enough lol) to say that I could write 2 or 3 motives that would better capture the spirit of this series that the producers would instantly choose over the Gershwin. With all the good composers hoping for work, it's a shame they chose 'canned' music.
Contact me, guys! A demo is available.

The theme music is “The Road is Open Again”

reply

I should have said the music for the End Credits.
Every episode opens with The Road... and closes with Prelude 2.

reply

I know that music and it doesn’t really suit this show.

reply

Agreed.
Maybe I will write a theme song just for fun. That used to be my profession. I wish they would have called me.

reply

I didn't notice the music, which usually means to me that it served its purpose well.
