Rosamund Pike did too good of a job....

Not too many actors can pull off creating such an unlikeable character....such wickedness.

I've noticed when it comes to truly awful characters done well some actors miss the mark by taking it over the top and turning it into almost a parody of villainy, but Pike really did her job well.

Between this and Gone Girl, she plays that part a little *too* well.

reply

But then she played Miss Jane Bennet and we must all agree that Miss Jane Bennet is a very sweet girl.

This thread is proof positive that there really are people out there who cannot tell fantasy from reality.

reply

How did you arrive at that? Do you read much?

reply

Roguemail....why post insulting remarks? Try adding something with worthwhile content...

reply

Some people are just sad and deflecting. See it all the time on these boards....

reply

It was aimed at you, as you seem to suggest that Pike is like that in real life.

Nothing insulting about that.

If anything, you suggesting that she may actually be like that in real life is what's insulting.

She's an actor and she played her part well, that's all.

reply

Why call out the whole thread then? You replied to my post which was referencing a role where Pike played the polar opposite of an evil character. Besides ItalianBuju’s post was tongue in cheek humor, most get that.

reply

My bad, I replied to your post instead of italianbuju.

But my comments regarding his post still apply.

reply

Well it's not my fault you do not understand humor. I am not insulted, I do feel kind of bad for you though.

reply

Oh I do understand humour, and if you get anywhere near it I will be sure to let you know.

I haven't see that movie but I do not doubt she did a great job. She is obviously a very talented actress.

Marla was especially infuriating because she knew exactly how to game the system. Oscar-worthy performance by Pike. Reminded me of Michael McKean's portrayal of Charles McGill on Better Call Saul. McKean is supposedly a wonderful person, but Chuck was so immensely hateable that everytime I saw him I would cringe.
